Pitching Clinic

Dedham Girls Softball League announces that they will hold a tryout for their annual Pitching Clinic on Wednesday September 9, 2009 at Condon Park beginning at 6:00pm. Any DGSL softball players who are interested in learning fast-pitch should attend. Openings are limited, so participants will be chosen based on their potential exhibited at the try-out.

DGSL’s professional pitching instructor, Jackie Demling, will run the try-out and the clinic which will be held Sundays from September thru March. Jackie is a 2004 graduate of Wheaton College which placed 3rd at the 2001 D-III World Series and 5th at the 2004 D-III World Series during her career. In addition, Jackie has been the Pitching Coach at Emerson College, Salve Regina University, Brandeis University, and Wheaton College. Jackie’s involvement with DGSL has produced pitchers who are past and current pitchers at Dedham High School as well as all those currently pitching in our league.

Successful candidates will participate in a once per week clinic which will teach them the skills necessary to become a successful softball pitcher. Each participant must bring their own catcher to each session. The cost of the 20 week clinic is subsidized by DGSL.
